Richard initially started life as a Financial Adviser with Natwest who trained him and he qualified as an Adviser in 1998. Richard serviced the Natwest clients and was based in their Chorley and Leyland branches, whilst he enjoyed working for Natwest he was restricted to their products because they weren’t independent.
In December 1999 Richard left Natwest to start life in the Independent world where he has access to all services and products and he spends around 80% of his time with existing clients, he has clients up to Aberdeen, down to Brighton.
In October 2008 Richard joined LJ Financial Planning Limited who are based in Warrington, LJ Financial Planning Limited were awarded the prestigious Chartered Firm status in 2009
More about John Hughes
John qualified as a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and Registered Auditor in May 1994 having completed his training contract with a medium sized firm of Chartered Accountants in Liverpool. He then obtained significant business experience working for a large multinational charity based in Cheshire. At the same time he worked as a Sessional Tax Lecturer at the John Moores University tutoring students in both CIMA and Certified accountancy qualifications.
John established Heriot Hughes Chartered Accountants in June 1997 based in Formby and relocated to its present location in April 2003, having purchased the freehold of his current office accommodation.
The practice name “Heriot Hughes” originates from an old family name which has been handed down through the generations!
Heriot Hughes specialise in business start-ups, tax and business advice which has led to the office mantra of “make more, keep more, work less”.
